Carnival Ride

Got a smile that could light up a midnight sky
Sweet honeysuckle love, apple of my eye
Dance floor's flowin' like a river tonight
Love's been burning me up like a fire at night
And I've been trying all night long to make you see
Just what your love has done to me

Two hearts beating louder than the fourth of July
Like the sound of rolling thunder cross the summer sky
Nothing's finer than the way that you hold me tight
You've got me going crazy with those pretty brown eyes
Everything's better when you're by my side
Your cotton candy kisses keep me up at night
So jump in baby throw your hands up high
Twisting and a turning like a carnival ride

Your body's swaying it’s got me hypnotized
I'm like a de-railed train and I don't ask why
Well nothings sweeter than your lemon drop kiss
Honey child you know that I can't resist
And I been waiting for this moment for so long
Waiting for it all night long

Two hearts beating louder than the fourth of July
Like the sound of rolling thunder cross the summer sky
Nothing's finer than the way that you hold me tight
You've got me going crazy with those pretty brown eyes
Everything's better when you're by my side
Your cotton candy kisses keep me up at night
So jump in baby throw your hands up high
Twisting and a turning like a carnival ride

Like a carnival ride

One thing I know for sure that's crystal clear to see
I gotta have you next to me

Two hearts beating louder than the fourth of July
Like the sound of rolling thunder cross the summer sky
Nothing's finer than the way that you hold me tight
You've got me going crazy with those pretty brown eyes
Everything's better when you're by my side
Your cotton candy kisses keep me up at night
So jump in baby throw your hands up high
Wrap your arms around me and hold on tight
Keep loving on me honey for the rest of your life

Twisting and a turning like a carnival ride

You got me twisting, spinning like a carnival ride

last man standing

Two shots of Jim and a six pack in
I'm down to my last cigarette
My glass is empty
My heart's filled to the brim with regret
Been thinking all day, trying to wash this away
Staring down at this gold ring
When it comes to my love
I'll be the last man standing

When it all goes wrong and nothing goes right
You've got my shoulder if it takes all night
When it all goes down
I'll be the last man standing

When it all goes wrong and nothing goes right
You've got my shoulder if it takes all night
When it all goes down
I'll be the last man standing

I've thought long and hard 'bout the way I walked out the door
The simple truth of who's wrong or right
Doesn't matter anymore
Can I come back home, can we work it out
Cause girl I miss everything
When it comes to my love
I'll be the last man standing

When it all goes wrong and nothing goes right
You've got my shoulder if it takes all night
When it all goes down
I'll be the last man standing

I'd stand in the rain if it took all night
Rope you the moon if it made things right
Give me a chance to make you see
I would do anything, believe in me

My heart's on my sleeve

When it all goes wrong and nothing goes right
You've got my shoulder if it takes all night
When it all goes down
I'll be the last man standing
When it all goes down
I'll be the last man standing

before you walk away

I’ve never felt so lonely
I’ve never felt so blue
Just staring at the moonlight
I’m still so lost in you
At times I just break down
Without you around

So before you walk away
Hear what I’ve got to say
I believe there’s still a chance
Baby one more long slow dance
Give love a brand-new day
Before you walk away

Been thinking about the good times
And we’ve had our struggles too
I know this love is worth the fight
And we both know that is true
So let’s make this love right
Honey get lost in the neon light

So before you walk away
Hear what I’ve got to say
I believe there’s still a chance
Baby one more long slow dance
Give love a brand-new day
Before you walk away

No we can’t turn back time
But we can start brand new tonight

So before you walk away
Hear what I’ve got to say
I believe there’s still a chance
Baby one more long slow dance
Give love a brand-new day
Before you walk away

Give love a brand-new day
Before you walk away

That guitar

A tattered case, a broken handle
In his dusty cellar there it laid
With Dad’s mind slowly fading
Many years since they saw the light of stage

Opened the case then it all hit me
Like a doorway back in time
It’s one day I won’t soon forget
Still smell the bars and the cigarettes

I miss the sounds of those yesterdays
Still hear his voice with that guitar
Can’t turn back time that’s just the way it is
Sometimes changes are so hard,
Sometimes changes are so hard

Lathered face, razor in his hand
Hee Haw on the set before he’d go
Sang country music some nights till dawn
That guitar’s seen so many shows

Now he’s gone I’ll always miss him
Stories of the bars and old dance halls
So many songs, so many miles
Can almost hear his voice with that Gibson on my wall

I miss the sounds of those yesterdays
Still hear his voice with that guitar
Can’t turn back time that’s just the way it is
Sometimes changes are so hard,
Sometimes changes are so hard

If that guitar could only talk
Heartache and heartbreak that it saw
Laughter, love and tears
Wish it could tell me more about those years

I miss the sounds of those yesterdays
Still hear his voice with that guitar
Can’t turn back time that’s just the way it is
Sometimes changes are so hard,
Sometimes changes are so hard

A tattered case, a broken handle

tennessee honey

Got a pocket full of money when the weekend comes
Spend it on my honey, Tennessee's where she's from
The crowin' of the rooster till the daylight's done
I'll be the last one standing you can bet on that son

Tippin' and trippin' across a dance hall floor
Kisses so sweet make you beg for more
Rockin' through the night till it's bright and sunny
Love summer sippin', with my Tennessee Honey

Well she's smooth and sweet, spin your head around
And a finer comfort, just can't be found
There ain't no better, the hottest girl around
Y'all she's the pride, of her hometown

Got a pocket full of money when the weekend comes
Spend it on my honey, Tennessee's where she's from
The crowin' of the rooster till the daylight's done
I'll be the last one standing you can bet on that son

Tippin' and trippin' across a dance hall floor
Kisses so sweet make you beg for more
Rockin' through the night till it's bright and sunny
Love summer sippin', with my Tennessee Honey

Sometimes it stings, when she shuts me down
Sometimes we're on the rocks, then we make it up town
A shooter to my courage, a double barrel full of fun
She can wind me down, when the work is done

Got a pocket full of money when the weekend comes
Spend it on my honey, Tennessee's where she's from
The crowin' of the rooster till the daylight's done
I'll be the last one standing you can bet on that son

Tippin' and trippin' across a dance hall floor
Kisses so sweet make you beg for more
Rockin' through the night till it's bright and sunny
Love summer sippin', with my Tennessee Honey

Oohoo when I see you on the street; Oohoo, she knocks me off my feet

Got a pocket full of money when the weekend comes
Spend it on my honey, Tennessee's where she's from
Crowin' of the rooster till my days are done
She's the butter on my biscuit you can bet on that son

Rockin' and touchin' on the dance hall floor
Kisses so sweet, make you beg for more
Got me buzzin' like a bee and it may sound funny
Reminiscing summer sippin' with my Tennessee Honey

With my Tennessee Honey
With my Tennessee Honey
With my Tennessee Honey
